What is ╕2M (Pitch to Midi)?
╕2M is the first real-time audio-to-midi converter for Cubase VST.
It analyses an audio track (mono or stereo) and convert its detected pitch and gain to midi datas (Note on/off with velocity)
Compatibility.
Pitch to Midi is a VST plug-in.
Compatible software: Cubase VST 5 MINIMUM. (doesn't work with logic 4.8)
Compatible platform: Macintosh PPC (G3-G4)
Other software: please mail me some feedback!
How do i use it?
Drag the plug into the vstPlugins folder of your host application(s).
To use it insert the plugin on an audio track then select the midi track to play it on or record.
Note: best analysis are done with monophonic audio sources. Polyphonic audio sources generate confused melody (RANDOM MUSIC ;-) )
Simple, isn╒t it?
Parameters
Here is a list of all the parameters.
Input menu: select the input(s) to process
- Left: left input only
- Right: right input only
- Left + Right: stereo input
- Left - Right: phase difference.
Input gain: trim the input level from -20 db to +20 db
FFT size (FFT = Fast Fourier Transform): number of frequencies to analyse.
- 512: faster but confused
- 1024: better
- 2048: ok
- 4096: good
- 8192: great but using a lot of CPU
- 16384: best but dangerous with slow CPU, use it with fast G4 CPU
Window: oversampling size.
Try all value to find the best result (64 is good - but 512 is using a lot of CPU if the FFT size is set to 16384)
This is a demo!
The "DEMO" version drop out sound during 3 seconds each 30 seconds.
╕2M is a shareware!
